Kuala Lumpur, 8 September 2015– Building a better working relationship with the developers is paramount in ensuring that Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) meets their delivery aspiration – this was the crux of the discussion at PR1MA’s inaugural townhall held recently.
To roll out a huge mandate of 500,000 homes on time, PR1MA believes that they can meet the delivery deadline collectively by consolidating its operation with the developers.
“This townhall is an addition to one of our continuous efforts in engaging our partners towards a better working relationship. It is vital for us to provide this platform that encourages both our team and the committed developers to exchange ideas in overcoming challenges throughout all the stages in ensuring timely delivery,” stated Dato’ Abdul Mutalib Alias, Chief Executive Officer of PR1MA.
Mutalib also added that PR1MA urges its partners to share across monthly updates on their development status respectively. Consequently, this will provide a clearer understanding on the progressive developments from each developer towards reaching the targeted homes built upon optimum potential.
Together with the developers, PR1MA has identified the roadblocks and challenges within each project and measures to overcome them, to ensure that delivery will not be hampered. PR1MA has called upon a more concerted action in accelerating the development rate across all of its projects.
Chief Executive Officer of MCT Bhd, Dato’ Sri Tong Seech Wi, said “The Townhall is a profound platform for developers to engage with PR1MA on any matters concerned happening on each project respectively, especially when we are all working towards the same aspiration.”
Among the topics emphasised at the PR1MA Townhall include its commitment as a quasi-regulator with development functions such as supervision in the planning and execution stage in designing the housing units. Additionally, PR1MA ensures that the living environment is of good quality and safe through maintenance and operations of the envisioned PR1MA communities.
The townhall with developers marks the first of an annual gathering moving forward as part of its ongoing commitment to empower the home ownership agenda and spearhead its efforts to build the mandated affordable houses within the targeted timeframe. PR1MA is currently on track to meet its targeted development approved by its Members of Corporation of 240,000 housing units by end of 2015 which is in line with the announcements by the Government in Budget 2013, 2014 and 2015 where PR1MA’s target development approval is 80,000 units in each of those years.
