KUANTAN, PAHANG 7 APRIL 2018: Federal and State housing agencies are coming together at the largest nationwide home expo to offer homebuyers in Pahang the opportunity to own their dream home. More than 58,000 residential units are being showcased and opened for sale at the “Ekspo Jualan Perumahan - Ke Arah Sejuta Impian, Alami Gaya HidupSejahtera” which is being held at the Sultan Ahmad Shah International Convention Centre (SASICC).
The Pahang edition of theexpo, which will also act as a one-stop centre to assist potential buyers in their homeownership journey, is a joint initiative between Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA); Jabatan Perumahan Negara (JPN); and 1Malaysia Housing Projects for Civil Servants (PPA1M) as well as Perumahan Pahang.
“Pahang is transforming to become the main investment hub for the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) and gateway to the Asia-Pacific market. The rakyat in Pahang will certainly benefit from the increased jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities, which in turn will increase the demand for quality housing particularly amongst the middle-income group,” said Dato' Abdul Mutalib bin Alias, Chief Executive Officer of PR1MA.
The 5-day event which takes place between April 5-9, was officiated by Dato’ Sri DiRaja Haji Adnan bin Haji Yaakob, Menteri Besar Pahang today.
At the expo, a wide selection of homes for both the middle-income (M40) and lower-income (B40) groups are showcased and opened for sale. Almost 83% of the units being showcased are priced below RM250,000, reflecting the Government’s commitment to deliver on its national housing agenda to provide market quality homes that are fairly priced.
PR1MA is showcasing 14 developments, comprising 17,563 units of both high-rise and landed properties during the Expo, including projects located in Kuantan, Bentong, Pekan and Bera. In fact, 315 units of PR1MA@Gambang 1 were sold in only 3 days upon its launch, an indication of the housing programme’s success in the state.
To ease the homeownership journey for first-time home buyers, the expo will also feature various information and sales booths, serving as a convenient one-stop-centre for potential buyers to gather all relevant information pertaining to PR1MA homes. They will be assisted by PR1MA staff as well as representatives from financial institutions and relevant agencies.
PR1MA has successfully sold 16,000 homes nationwide with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM4 billion, in just under two years. Meanwhile, PR1MA Members of Corporation (MOC), has so far approved more than 267,640 homes nationwide for development, and is on track to fulfilling its commitment to build 500,000 homes for the rakyat. This is a testament to the Government’s efforts to deliver on the National Housing Agenda for the rakyat in the M40 income group.
PR1MA developments come with market-quality features and amenities suited for the modern Malaysian lifestyle. These features and amenities are commonly found in projects by private developers such as multipurpose hall, playground, surau, child care centre and swimming pool.
Prior to PR1MA, the Government’s housing programmes were focused on the lower-income group (B40). PR1MA was established to serve the middle-income group (M40). It offers various types of quality homes that suit different lifestyles, and priced at an average of 20% lower than the current market price for similar properties within the same vicinity.
“I strongly urge members of the public, especially the M40 group, not to miss visiting this expo. This is indeed a great opportunity to take the first step towards owning your first property, or to learn more about the homebuying process,” concluded Dato' Abdul Mutalib.
Ekspo Pahang is the 6th expo in this series after Terengganu, Kedah, Perak, Sabah, and KL. The Ekspo Jualan Perumahan – Ke Arah Sejuta Impian, Alami Gaya Hidup Sejahtera will continue nationwide, reaching out to the rakyat in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Perlisthroughout the month of April.
