MELAKA, 13 APRIL 2018: Federal and State housing agencies are offering more than 27,452 residential units in Melaka through the largest nationwide home expo, “Ekspo Jualan Perumahan - Ke Arah Sejuta Impian, Alami Gaya HidupSejahtera”,which also acts as a one-stop centre to assist potential buyers in their home ownership journey.
A joint initiative between Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA); the Melaka Housing Board; Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB); as well as 1Malaysia Housing Projects for Civil Servants (PPA1M); the expo is being held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) from 12 to 16 March.
The 5-day event was officiated today, byDatuk Seri Utama Ir. Haji Idris bin Hj. Haron, Chief Minister of Melaka. Present also at the event was Dato' Abdul Mutalib bin Alias, Chief Executive Officer of PR1MA.
“In total, the Melaka edition of the Ekspo Jualan Perumahan - Ke Arah Sejuta Impian, Alami Gaya HidupSejahtera will feature over 27,000 homes by PR1MA, Melaka Housing Board, SPNB and PPA1M at various price points, thus catering to the rakyat from both the low-income (B40) and middle-income (M40) groups.
“In fact, out of the total number of homes offered at this expo, 24,725 units or 90% are priced below RM300,000,” said Dato' Abdul Mutalib bin Alias.
A total of 19 PR1MA projects, comprising 20,420 units of PR1MA homes with an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM5.1 billion, will be exhibited during the expo, including projects in key locations such as A’Famosa, Alor Gajah, Durian Tunggal, Klebang, Melaka Tengah and Ayer Panas.
“In line with the Government’s aim to increase home ownership amongst the rakyat, PR1MA is committed to deliver quality homes to ensure that the middle-income (M40) group is not left out.
“Through the Melaka edition of the expo, we will be offering more than 20,000 residential units by PR1MA, thus creating more opportunities for M40 Malaysians to own a quality home in this Historical City,” Dato' Abdul Mutalib bin Aliasadded.
To-date, more than 22,000 PR1MA registrants have chosen Melaka City as their first choice when it comes to purchasing their first home. In total, more than 52,000 out of 1.5 million PR1MA registrants are from Melaka. PR1MA expects the number of registrants to rise as more projects are being launched in Melaka.
Meanwhile, the implementation of an effective housing policy by the State Government has recorded a high percentage of home ownership. According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia, the percentage of home ownership in Melaka is at 84.4%, higher than the national level of 76.1%.
Beyond delivering brick and mortar, PR1MA projects aim to be the foundation for strong, integrated and harmonious communities that can grow into townships that are socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.

Taking place concurrently with Ekspo Negeri Sembilan, Ekspo Melaka is the 8th expo in this series after Terengganu, Kedah, Perak, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Pahang.
The Ekspo Jualan Perumahan – Ke Arah Sejuta Impian, Alami Gaya Hidup Sejahtera will also reach out to the rakyat in Johor, at the end of the month.
