Putrajaya, 21 August 2015 – PerbadananPR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) and Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) today have signed an agreement for a RM3.0 billion bridging loan facility to partly finance the development works of PR1MA Homes housing projects.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohammad Najib Tun Razak, Chairman of PR1MA YBhg Tan Sri Ali Hamsa and Chairman of Maybank and Board of Director of Maybank YBhg Dato’ Seri Ismail Shahudin.
PR1MA was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Abdul Mutalib Alias while Maybank was represented by its Group Head, Global Banking, Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir.
Under this agreement, Maybank will provide comprehensive financial facilities for the construction of PR1MA Homes for the next five (5) years.
PR1MA Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Abdul Mutalib Alias said the partnership between PR1MA and Maybank serves as a testimony of private sector’s including the financial institutions’, unwavering support and confidence towards the national housing agenda carried out by PR1MA.
“We are confident that this financial facility provided by Maybank allows us carry out the development work of PR1MA home projects as planned, within the given timeframe.
“We are committed to build PR1MA Homes nationwide in an effort to ensure more middle income earners in Malaysia will be able to afford to own a house,” he added.
Amirul Feisal said, Maybank is very proud to be involved in the PR1MA project as the main financier. "We are very pleased to partner with PR1MA in developing homes for middle income earners, including those who have just started working to own homes in strategic locations across the country. This role is in line with our aim to humanise financial services.
The Takaful and customer loyalty program called PR1MA Care is a collaboration between PR1MA and Etiqa Takaful Berhad, a subsidiary of Maybank Takaful. "With this additional convenience provided by Maybank, the customers are given the opportunity to enjoy a full Takaful plan, home maintenance services, funeral expenses coverage and customer loyalty cards that are accepted at participating shopping outlets throughout the nation.
"In addition to the facilities offered to PR1MA, we also provide financing to buyers, as well as insurance and Takaful products to developers and contractors involved. We also provide project funding to contractors at competitive rates," he said.
As at end of July 2015, more than 1.02 million registrants interested in owning a PR1MA Home have registered under the National Registration System.
