KUALA LUMPUR, 27 November 2015 –Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) is optimistic of achieving its mandate on time with some 65,000 units of its affordable homes currently under construction across the country.
These homes are in various stages of construction and it is estimated that 10,000 units of PR1MA homes, which will be sold at an average of 20% below market prices, will be completed next year.
Going forward, PR1MA is confident of being able to speed up and improve development and construction processes of future projects upon employing high technology methods such as the industrialised building system (IBS).
“We are currently talking to several potential partners to assist us in this. Hopefully we can wrap this up soon,” said PR1MA Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Abdul Mutalib Alias.
Under the National Housing Agenda, PR1MA, which was established in 2012, has been mandated to build 500,000 units of market quality affordable homes for the middle income earners, nationwide.
Abdul Mutalib said the 65,000 units of home it is building at the moment, within just 2.5 years of its establishment, is indeed commendable when compared to the country’s industry average of about 80,000 homes of various categories, build by various developers, in a year.
“Looking at the numbers alone, PR1MA is by far the largest property developer in the country. We are very much aware of the challenges ahead of us and we are taking all these in stride.”
“PR1MA was established for the good of the rakyat. Hopefully we will succeed not only in providing homes for the people but also, by the sheer magnitude of our project, play a significant part in making the paradigm shift in the country’s property sector,” he added.
Meanwhile, after successful stints in Kedah and Melaka, PR1MA is bringing its nationwide property roadshow, the Ekspo Rumah PR1MA 2015, over to Kuala Lumpur – showcasing its array of quality affordable housing projects nationwide to the city dwellers.
