KUALA LUMPUR, 11 September– Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) today signed a Master En-Bloc Purchase Agreement (MEBPA) with Darulaman Realty Sdn Bhd (DRSB) for the purpose of PR1MA housing development at Kuala Ketil, Kedah.
More middle-income earners of between RM2,500 and RM7,500 a month will have the opportunity to own quality homes at an affordable cost through a housing project built by DRSB.
The status of the project has reached 60 per cent and it is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The housing project which includes the construction of 323 units of double storey terrace house has a total site area of 19.714 acres. This project is PR1MA’s ongoing effort to reduce Malaysians cost of living and improve their quality of life.
The development is strategically located and suitable for families as it is close to basic facilities such as clinics, shops, schools and Insaniah University College.
"We are very pleased to be working closely with DRSB in order to fulfill the mandate to provide more housing for middle income earners. This agreement reinforces our goal to continuously increase our efforts in ensuring that we attend to the basic needs of people," said Dato' Abdul Mutalib Alias, Chief Executive Officer, PR1MA.
"Furthermore, we also want to encourage the people of Kedah, particularly in the area of Kuala Ketil to register with PR1MA for the chance to own a PR1MA home that is comfortable and with quality at an affordable price," he added.
So far more than 700,000 Malaysians have already signed up for the chance to own a PR1MA home. Of the total, 10,335 registrants are from Kedah.
According to the Group Managing Director of BDB, Dato 'Izham Yusoff, the collaboration with PR1MA in this project is a strong foundation for BDB to continue developing and providing quality housing units in Kedah.
"We expect the prospects of continued collaboration with PR1MA in the future based on the capabilities and advantages that we have," he said. Dato 'Izham added, BDB has a few parcels of land to be developed in the vicinity of which is in Kulim and Langkawi.
Conditions for eligibility
Applicants must meet certain conditions to qualify as PR1MA home onwers. Application is open to all Malaysians aged 21 years and above, and will be given priority to residents in areas where the PR1MA housing is in construction.
Applicants should also have a gross monthly household income of individual or a combination between RM2,500 to RM7,500 to qualify. In addition, applicants should not have more than one residential property in Malaysia.
